The 7105 PCI
serial interface provides one serial
port
configurable for RS-422, RS-485, or RS-530.
The board is
capable of data rates to 460.8K bps
and
automatically handles RS-485 transmitter
enable/disable. The 7105 utilizes a 16C850 UART
to provide
128-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs for maximum
reliability in
data intensive applications. Ordering
options allow
the choice of UARTs for custom
baud rates and
9-bit protocols. Sealevel's
SeaCOM
software utilities make installation and
operation
easy.

FIFOs.

The 7404 PCI
serial interface provides four field
selectable
ports configurable as
RS232/422/485/530 supporting asynchronous
data rates up
to 460.8K bps. In RS-485 mode,
our autoenable
feature allows the 7404 to be
viewed by the
operating system as a standard
COM port.

The Ultra
COMM+8.PCI is a multi-interface, eight
port,
Universal Bus (3.3V or 5V) compatible PCI
adapter.
Offering eight field-selectable RS-
232/422/485
channels, the Ultra COMM+8.PCI
delivers
ultimate flexibility for expanding serial
communications. The Ultra COMM+8.PCI supports
standard PC
data rates and boasts a top speed
of 921.6K bps.
The board is designed using the
XR16C864 UART,
which provides a 128-byte
FIFO, eight
times larger than boards designed
with 16C550
compatible parts. The larger buffers
allow error
free operation even in high-speed
applications.
In RS-485 mode the board provides
automatic
control of the RS-485 driver enable for
trouble free
network master arbitration. Additionally, RS-485 network
termination,
critical to
robust multi-drop communication, can be selectively added to
the circuit via
DIP-switches.
